All of our kitties here @ KatteryKennels are strictly indoors and pets. They are all neutered, healthy and spoiled rotten! They have actually been here longer than the cockers but SHHHH! don't tell the cockers that! LOL As a child my very first pet was a cat and the amount of love and acceptance I was taught by him has stayed with me to this day. For those that don't believe dogs and cats can get along I invite you to come see for yourself! Our kitties do have their own room so that the dogs won't mess with their litter boxes and food bowls but they are seldom confined to their room *unless we are moving something major in and out the doors or having company that isn't so kitty friendly. Part of the reason my name is Kat comes from the love I have for them (Kat is short for Katie). I have alot of respect for them and could not see my life without one in it nearly the same way with a cocker spaniel. When I met my husband (Terry) I had but one "pet" at the time (Emmykitty) and later when we decided to marry Emmy was included in the wedding ceremony. I don't know if its possible for anyone else to understand the bond we have with certain animals but if anyone could my husband understands the love between Emmy and I. Here are the Kitties of Kattery Kennels and a bit about each of them. |

Emmett the Great is affectionately known as Emmy or Emmykitty. he is a Tuxedo Maine Coon/ Persian Mix. I delivered him into this world 11-2-00 and the bond was instantaneous. We are seldom parted and I consider him my first born child. Emmy is super loving, likes to greet everyone even strangers @ the door and if he likes you will demand he give you a kiss right on your lips!
Bandito Gatito is called either Bandi or Bandito and he is a Snowshoe. Bandi came to us as a tiny stray kitten when our old dog Patches brought him into the house from her doggie yard late one night. We nursed him back to health and he has been a charmer ever since. He is best friends with Emmy and loves to eat any type of Mexican Food~ even plain tortilla chips.
Sugar is an all white DSH that was brought to us by a very sick mommy kitty. Mommy had to be put to sleep do to a severe URI and Sugar has resided with us ever since. Sugar is far from tame and really is not too fond of humans. We have to trick her into being caught for her flea preventative or trips to the vet. She has 1 blue eye and 1 gold. She does however love all our dogs.
Mikey is a Tabby and White DSH. He is our largest kitty altho not fat by any means. He tends to be a bit of a bully and likes to pick on the younger cats from time to time. Bandi is his father and interestingly enough both of them lost their loud voices after being neutered. Mikey enjoys napping on our bed most of the day or looking out the window. Mikey adopted my goddaughter and so he now lives with her family :) we are happy he has found his best buddy and yet we can still see him often!
MewMew is often called PrincessMewMew because of her regal ways. She is a Calico DLH and often has trouble deciding if she is going to be nice to you or the next minute claw into your hand. She means well but gets overly agressive in her play sometimes. MewMew also is not afraid of any puppies or doggies and sometimes taunts them into playing "chase". Mew Mew escaped out the door in March 2011, we are still hoping her microchip will lead her home to us.

Pooky is an all white Persian who came to us when we re-homed Trey with us. She is 14 years old, rather cranky, does not like dogs, puppies or other cats. She tended to spend most of her time in the kitty room while she was here. She has moved back with her Mom in Colorado in November of 2007. She is still with Trey and now also has a puppy Folly to contend with. We are sad to share the news that Pooky passed away in the Autumn of 2008. She lived a very long, healthy life and was contently back to living with her mom at the time of her passing.

This is our large freshwater aquarium we affectionately refer to as "Kitty TV". The cats more so than the dogs like to watch the fish, they will even sit on top of it and try to drink water out of the flowing water filters. We have 2 pink kissing gouramis, 2 rainbow gouramis, 2 red gouramis, and 4 angelfish
