I will tho, give you some advance details about the 2 planned litters we
have for this Autumn (2009)! (until there is a due date for the pups there
will be no newsletter put out over the summertime).
Scarlet (our black and white parti fantastic 'ticked' (spots) girl who's
lineage goes back to many champions with a claim to fame of being
related to THE dog on the cover of THE World of the Cocker Spaniel
book (collectors item no longer in print~ if you have a copy (as I do)
you are very lucky!) will be bred again (her autumn litter last year is
our Parti Puppies Litter) to our super happy very handsome Wigglez
(buff and white parti merle with nice ticking too).  Parti puppies in
almost every color (black, blue, buff, chocolate*possible just not
produced yet* and red) are planned.  This will be a merle litter so blue
eyes and each shade as a 'merle' is possible.
Miss Muppet (our petite dark sable beauty) will be bred again (her
Spring 2008 litter is our Colorful Litter) to our unique and handsome
Smorez (black and tan with one blue merle eye and merle coloring in
his coat).  Solid puppies in nearly every color are possible as their last
litter had quite the color to it (including a chocolate sable) tho buffs or
reds are less likely.  Sables & Merles being what we are most hoping
for.
Contact me if you are interested in adding any of them to your family.
I am happy to answer your questions and will let you know in detail
about anything you might want to know about us or the parents etc.

Terry is planning to visit his mom up in Minnesota for a few days in the
beginning of May.  He hopes to be home by "Mother's Day" to spend it with me
and our furry kids.  His health continues to improve and he is receiving regular
treatments for his liver disease at Kansas University Medical Center.  He still
has his sluggish days and when wet weather is around his knee definately
knows about it in advance, but I am happy to say overall he is doing great!  One
of his main projects for this summer is going to be supervising the construction
of our new garage~ something he has been quite excited about as half of it will
be his 'workshop area' for his toys erm I mean tools.  LOL

I plan on doing a lot of
gardening, we've even already planted 22 new trees
along our property line (last week of April) and it will be a regular chore to keep
them well watered thru the HOT Kansas Summer Days.  My Irises this month
should be blooming and I need to document what colors are where as I plan this
autumn to transplant some of them to help them flourish (overcrowded bed
needing lots more room and good fertilized soil too).  My roses have already
started their new leaves tho I can't report any buds yet.  I am getting ready to
start my 'upside down' tomatoes and strawberry plants.  I have been wanting to
try this method for some time now and finally talked Terry into constructing what
I need to do so.  I do have also planted our planting boxes along the front walk
with annuals.  I still need to get my gladiolas in along the front driveway planting
bed too.

Sometime over the summer as well we will be heading to KC to OFA and CERF
test our adults, this annual trip is an all day affair as the dogs need to be into the
veterinary specialist early and on an empty stomach as they are sedated for the
X-rays and we pick them up several hours later once they are fully recovered
and have had their eyes examined too.  I am thinking we will spend the day
visiting with my dad who lives not that far from the vet's office.  Our local vet
does not have the additional certification to do the required eye exam or the
special equipment for the X-rays.

I am hoping too that like last year we have a chance for several of our friends to
visit with us over the summer as we truly enjoy seeing them and our pups/dogs
that are now members of their family.

So until next time we are expecting
puppies you won't hear from me all that
often, tho there will also updates being done on the website (new photos,
information topics hopefully completed etc).
Have a Great Summer! Kat
April brought the arrival of spring (rain and warmer
weather) and saw the departure to their new
families of the pups from our
2 spring litters.  You
will have to forgive me if this edition sounds sad, I
always miss the pups when they leave and with
us not having any litters planned til Autumn I am
thinking about them and missing them even more.
May, I hope, will be spent with my flowers and
doting on our adult and juvenile cockers, tho there
might (not promising but hinting) be a new
addition to our furry family sometime soon as well.
