Greater specific details about our one year
congenital defect guarantee.
We have not had anyone over the years
need to use the guarantee (which is an
excellent record) but are glad we can
provide it should the need ever be
there.  We stand behind the health and
quality of each and every one of our
puppies.
When we have puppies born we are looking for good homes for them.  Often that
means we have placed ads on the internet or local newspapers letting people know
we have them, sometimes you don't see our current ads (depending on the
website's policies) and so we encourage you to visit our
Nursery or Puppies page to
see who is currently available.  Only those puppies are available, any other photos
are of our own dogs (not for sale) or of previous pups who are now home with their
new owners.
Since these pups are raised in our home and we are not a 'store front' business we
want to make people aware of a few Policies we have regarding visiting our home.
Set an appointment.  We live in a very rural gated lake community 2 hours south of Kansas City
and tho we try to be available during the hours of Monday-Saturday 11am-7pm we do
occasionally have places to be and we'd hate to have you drive all the way out here only to not
be able to meet us.  Without an appointment you probably won't even make it to our door due
the the front gate requiring an access card.  We also have a "Neighborhood Watch Program".
If you are visiting other breeders around this same time, we do ask that we be the first place
you visit.  We aren't discouraging you from comparing (in fact we hope you do, because you will
more than likely return to us quite happy to have found us to buy from) us to another but trying
to limit the exposure our puppies will have to outside germs, unfortunately not all breeders are
as concerned with the health and well being of their animals like we are.  We are trying to
protect your potential future puppy so this is in your best interest.
In fact because of outside germs we require that
  1. You wait until the puppies are 6 weeks old to visit, this way they have had their first series
of vaccinations and their developing immune system is in a more ready stage to deal with
germs that can even be brought in on your shoes.
  2. Please leave your other pets (dogs, cats etc) at home.  While your pet might be current
on its vaccinations and quite healthy again there are serious germs that can be brought
in on its feet.  Not to mention that our puppies are babies, their moms are protective of
them and while they are nice and willing to let people meet their babies having another
dog is too much to ask of them.
  • Also tho your dog is probably the best dog EVER at home, here there are 16 adult
cockers so lots of new scents and faces and they could be intimidated, when
intimidated dogs often react to fear by being less well behaved, I have 9 years
experience working with vets and some of the nicest dogs at home have the worst
reputations away from home, they snap, snarl and sorry but you wouldn't want that
by your baby so please don't ask me to allow that around my puppies either.
  • This does not mean that later your dog will not get along with our puppy, at your
home it will be ALOT less stressful on your dog and our new puppy will be meeting
them in a controlled way *one on one and with you there to supervise*.  We have
information pages about bringing home your new puppy and you can read them
    here.
Please supervise your children.  Our puppies are socialized with people of all ages but also
keep in mind their mommies are often protective and having a stranger run up to them can
cause them to be concerned about their pups.
  • When we have kids visiting with new puppy families we often put mom and dad in another
room so that the kids can meet the puppies first.  We do put the other adults in their dog
room with the dog yard access so that they aren't running all over excited to meet
everyone.  You are welcome to ask to see them but please also have someone available
to keep an eye on your kids.
  • Please do not allow your younger children to pick up or carry the new puppies.  At 6
weeks old the pups are often squirmy and a young child could drop them or fall on them
and any puppy that gets hurt could bite, puppy teeth are sharp and I wouldn't consider
the puppy wrong to behave that way if hurt, nor would you want to pay the vet bill for a
puppy who's leg was broken accidentally.  Instead allow the children to sit on your lap
and meet the puppy, or better yet sit down with them and let the puppies play with you on
    the floor.
  • Our puppies DO get along with children and in fact I think every child should own a
cocker spaniel to grow up with (my Goddaughter has an enriched life owning one and I
see how much love and friendship one brings to a child), please don't think we are saying
that they aren't a good match.  However we think any young child should always be
supervised with a puppy or dog as the younger they are the more curious they can be
and they don't know right from wrong nor does a puppy and that spells out potential
    problems.
Counter
We encourage all new pet families to meet us and pick up their new dog here.
If that is not possible for some reason we will drive half way not in excess of 2
hours to meet with you to deliver your new puppy/dog OR we will providing
the right situation ship a dog via airline (we prefer Delta's Pets First program
or Continental's Climate Controlled Service) to you.  Shipping is an additional
fee that the new owner must pay in advance in order to obtain a reservation.
Sometimes certain situations will require more flexibility~ please be sure to
discuss your needs with us and we will try to accomodate you.

Any dog/puppy old enough to receive a
haircut will be groomed before arriving at it's
new home.
Any dog/puppy living close enough to us is
welcome to set up an appointment to be
groomed by us regularly.
There will be a rate given that will make
the trip to our rural location worthwhile
and we certainly will enjoy visiting with
you too!
Other dogs in your family are welcome
too.  Please discuss the Grooming
needs with us so we can let you know
what we can accommodate.
From time to time we are willing to instruct
new owners of our puppies on how to groom
the puppy/dog for themselves.  We have put
together online instructions and diagrams to
help everyone understand this as well.
This website contains our photos and info about our Breeding Program and some other related information.  We
invite you to check out our website to learn more about us and the cocker spaniels here.  Please use the links on
